Cooperl

Cooperl Hunaudaye, Lamballe, France

Cooperl Hunaudaye, a farmers’ co-operative specialising in pork production and slaughtering, was founded in April 1966 by a group of farmers in the Lamballe region (Côtes d’Armor). Cooperl’s initial roles were the technical and commercial support of farmers that were undergoing an intensification of their activities. But in 1978 Cooperl took sharing interest in two slaughterhouses. These are Cooperl Hunaudaye located in Montfort sur Meu (near Rennes, formerly known as ‘Benijo’) and Cooperl Hunaudaye located in Lamballe, formerly known as ‘SA Centre d’Abattage de Lamballe (C.A.L. Lamballe Slaughterhouse)

In 2002 the joint production on the two locations was approx. 3.200.000 pigs.

At Lamballe approx. 31.000 pigs per week are slaughtered.

Since Cooperl took over this slaughterhouse, modernisation has been achieved through numerous renovations and extensions. The last one is the implementation by MPS of all 6 available F-line robots:

FPC Pre-Cutter

FBO Belly&Breast-Opener

FBD Bung Dropper

FLR Leaflard-Remover

FNC Neck-Cutter

FUM Universal Marker

Besides the F-line robots also the latest Midas stunning machine with Inarco® stunning technology will be installed.

Because of these investments, Cooperl Hunaudaye Lamballe will be at one stroke one of Europe’s most modern high capacity slaughterhouses with a low number of employees in the slaughterline.
