One final step for the biological treatment of wastewater is required. The bacteria need to be separated from the purified water.
AQUA Industrial Watertreatment provides three different systems:
MBR - Membrane Bio-Reactor – filtration system. AQUA's BioBrane® System
The Membrane Bio-Reactor is a compact system that works well with highly concentrated sludge. Because the system is based on high concentrations of bacteria, the required volume of the aeration basin can be reduced. In addition, the filter function of the membranes results in a very clean (high quality) effluent.
AQUA's BioFlot® system separates bacteria colonies and can handle high bacteria concentrations with the use of smaller basins. The BioFlot® system also removes philamentous bacteria and is therefore excellently suited for wastewater with a high percentage of dissolved pollution. It is perfect for use in the dairy, soft drink, beer, potato, vegetable or fruit processing industries. The excess sludge coming from the BioFlot® system is characterised by a very high dry solids percentage. In other words a much lower volume of sludge which needs to be discharged and as a result lower discharge costs.
Bacteria can also be separated by sedimentation. Sedimentation separation can be achieved in the aeration basin itself, which is: AQUA’s SBR system (BioArt®), or by using a separate clarifier system: (AQUA’s BioClar®.)
