At this leading meat processor in Meckenheim the complete distribution logistics have been realised by MPS. Including the latest generation of Meat Movers and control.

A perfect logistic by perfect control

One of the pillars is an excellent logistic organisation. MPS designed and realised the complete logistic system. Including the control of the internal logistic and the automatic buffers.

Total integration

The control is based on the application of fixed barcode labels. The open interface between the production control system - supplied by the German company CSB - and the Stork line control runs the integrated control of the complete factory.

High service level

Characteristic is the high service level, because of 15 local control panels and a central monitoring system with modem-support.

The availability of the installation is more than 99,8%.

The logistic process

  • Supply and production in the day shift and order picking in the night shift. During the order picking the trucks are loaded and leave early in the morning to the customers.
  • Return crates are transported into a buffer with a wash/dry installation of 1200 crates per hour with a storage capacity of 10000 crates.
  • The transport system for empty, dirty, and full crates has a total length of 4200 meters.
  • The system is equipped with 5 identification points to where products are put into the process under monitoring.
  • Automatic single place buffers of 10000 E3-crates with 8 Meat Movers.
  • Automatic supply with two Meat Movers to four order picking places of 670 shafts and 4000 crate places. For 2700 picks per hour.
  • One extra order-picking area for fresh chickenmeat.
  • Totally paperless order picking with RF-scanner technology.
  • Picked orders are made ready for transport on 20 order gathering tracks.
  • In the shipping department there are 5 automatic rolly loaders
    (capacity 1750 crates/hour) for loading the trucks.
    With the last check that guarantees 100% faultless delivery.
