Atria Finland builds a new state-of-the-art beef slaughterhouse

The Finnish Atria Plc has awarded MPS Red Meat Slaughtering earlier this month as their supplier for the new beef slaughterhouse in the city of Kauhajoki, located in the South-Western part of Finland.

MPS was selected after a 1½ year of investigation by Atria and its professional project team, and included several visits of various references around Europe. Since MPS is supplier of the latest major beef slaughterhouses MPS could show all latest technology and capacities required.
 
Atria is re-building at the Kauhajoki site the entire plant which results in the, by far, biggest beef slaughtering operation at one location in all Scandinavia.

The slaughtering line will have a design allowing the process of "multi specie" animals including calves and also heavy bulls. The entire process of production in the various areas, but also the manning - flows - hygiene is meeting latest demands of EC.

Design engineering is started already in the areas of parking lots with guard house and the re-building process will be executed in several phases, avoiding the production losses, until February 2013.
