Edeka's high requirements for short delivery times, high reliability of delivery and high efficiency levels require the use of the MPS automated sorting & order picking process.
The Edeka Nord facility will feature:
Warehouse
Storage for trays and carton boxes: 32.400 storage positions and 25 MeatMovers (mini-loads). The MeatMover can handle plastic tray as well as carton boxes.
Orderpick storage
2080 articles, 5000 tray positions and 3 MeatMovers.
Paperless order picking by portable scanning terminals supported by pick-to-light system
High speed transport conveyors for trays and carton boxes ( 2000 units/hr)
Dispatch
3 Robots for automatic loading pallets and rollis with trays and carton boxes in the pre-determined sequence
Integrated Control System from machine-, line-control till WMS (warehouse Management System) including order picking software.
