MPS Meat Logistics supplies data matrix coding

23-09-2009

MPS Meat Logistics has recently installed a new transport and warehousing logistic system at a major German meat company. Part of this installation was the requirement for a new method for crate identification.

The system, pioneered by MPS, is called RVid (Removable Vision Identification). It consists of coding crates with a data matrix code using ink.

Compared to the conventional use of paper labels, data matrix coding offers a number of advantages.

These include:

  • No disturbance of the production process by damaging or releasing paper labels.
  • Less contamination in the crate washer, as no paper is used.
  • Unlike barcodes, data matrix codes can read in any direction.
  • Very high accuracy of identification because of data matrix error correction.

To find out more about RVid, please contact MPS Meat Logistics at +31 (0)544 390500 or info@mps-group.nl.
