USA: F-line for Freeport Farms

06-03-2006

Freeport Farms, Inc. has chosen to automate their new processing plant with a complete set of F-line slaughtering automates. The F-line technology is the world-wide standard with over 175 units succesfully installed already. The capacity ranges from 250 - 1.270 pigs per hour and the pay-back period can be as short as 1.8 years due to labour reduction, contamination reduction but most important slaughter efficiency improvement.

Carpentersville, Illinois-headquartered pork processor Trim-Rite selected a rural area two miles east of Freeport, Illinois for the site of its new state-of-the-art pig slaughter plant which will be equipped f.i. with the Samson CO2 stunner and condensation scalding. When completed, the plant will kill 4.000 pigs per shift and employ about 200 people. Trim-Rite will build the $17 million plant on a 28-acre plot that features other industries.
