YURUN EYES NORTHEAST CHINA

One of China’s largest meat processors has opened an operation in the northeast province of Heilongjiang.

China Yurun Food Group Ltd, one of the country’s largest meat processors specializing in fresh, chilled and frozen pork, has a newly-kicked-off operation of a modern abattoir in Harbin, capital of northeast China’s Heilongjiang province.
The abattoir has a full capacity for 1.5 million pigs a year, with slaughtering lines imported from MPS of The Netherlands.

Listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in October 2005, Yurun has been on an expansion trail nationwide, especially in the northeast, where it is said to be suitable for animal production for its abundant supply of feed raw materials.
The company has been operating five modern abattoirs in northeast China. In addition, it has a 3-million-head slaughterhouse under construction in Shenyang, which will be the largest of its kind in the region once completed.
